Delayed Start (14 Oct) to Training Year and Update

In order to deliver a program that works effectively in a COVID-19 environment, we've gone through extensive approval processes, planning and preparation. To complete the last of these items, we are delaying the start of training to start Wed 14 Oct 2020.

I apologize for the last minute decision, but I'll outline a few updates to our situation that has come through in the last week or so:

• In-person weekly training will be conducted in the James Park Annex (1730 Coquitlam Ave), not at École de pionniers. Due to the size of the facility, this means that different levels will rotate through the annex on different training nights. A schedule will go out outlining when training takes place.

• Non-medical masks (NMM) have arrived at the squadron and will be issued to all cadets. A NMM must be worn for all in-person cadet activities. Cadets will also be asked to complete the Health Canada self-assessment prior to each in-person activity (https://www.thrive.health/canada-covid19-app) 

• During this week, we will add you to a new Team for your Proficiency Level. This will be where any virtual classes or meetings for your levels will take place. 

• I want to thank all that have completed the Returning Cadets Survey (https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=n_hT2xUsWUmMsS4wUXQ5M6x_x8Kci89Arzp6TxXt0p9UQkVKRlozNkk1NlA0SVQyTlNGTk9ETlhPWi4u) survey. Out of the 84 responses so far, almost everyone has indicated they would be willing to participate in virtual training and have the resources to do so. If you haven't already filled it out, please take the time to do so
