FUNDRAISING

Our mandatory training costs are covered by DND (Department of National Defence) and they supply our uniforms. In partnership with the Air Cadet League of Canada (British Columbia Provincial League), they also provide our gliding program, upkeep of the aircraft, Effective Speaking Program, Power Pilot Program, International Exchange etc. This covers a great amount of our program costs.

Each squadron has a Squadron Sponsoring Committee, which needs to raise funds yearly to cover all our other costs to run our amazing program. Such as rent, optional training activities (Band Equipment, First Aid Qualifications, Mess Dinners, Trips etc. Basically all the extra stuff to run our program and some really FUN Events!!!!

Every cadet needs to participate, cause we have proven the more cadets that get involved the higher success rate of funds we make. Which allows us to provide them with opportunities they may not normally get to experience. These events change yearly with us trying to keep it exciting and new to them!

The way we do this is by what we call Tagging. The community of Port Coquitlam/Coquitlam businesses, allow us to ask for donations outside their locations. This also allows us to be out in the community eye telling everyone about our program, and educating them about Air Cadets.

We do this twice a year, once at the beginning of October and then again the beginning of April. Please see calendar for dates and more details. Sign ups will be available on the sign up page once OPEN. Cadets are required to attend one shift per weekend. Of course we encourage more participation if you can offer more of your time.
